Solo show, Fabrica CCI. Dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Black Square by Malevich and the «Last Futurist Show of paintings 0,10».
Within the series of seven sculptures the artist develops the theme of absence, the apparent disappearance of visibility, the unreported. It is no coincidence that the central and eponymous piece is withdrawn from the exposition narrative and placed outside, into a different show, a different world.
The artist considers the problem of chaotization an destruction of the image, dramatic lack of the Spirit in the contemporary discourse defined by rapidly growing speed of appearance and disappearance of certain.
The overall fragility of the exhibition architecture is supported by the musical accompaniment of the six real and one imaginary composition by E67 musician based only on the synopsis of the sculptures. Here the absence and invisibility imply sound genesis from the pure word sensation.
The dynamic and unstable equilibrium of Solovyev's works that are ready to fall apart into numerous incompatible pieces on the one hand alludes the apparent collapse of the human society, the dilution of the national identity, the common guidelines deprivation, a media post-ideological eclecticism that does not unite the nation anymore. On the other hand, it is a Supremus' immanent dynamism, an alacrity to change the state of aggregation and to deform. The deformation here is not only taken as a distortion or a simple mechanical destruction, but as the path to the transgression, transfiguration. Nothing disappears, but transforms and takes a new shape.
We used to live in the world where black is accepted and perceived as a lack of light rather as a reflection of the inner darkness of the new Dark Ages and as something quite opposite to God. But in the imperfect optics it can become a veil of secrecy hiding behind the inability to see the face of the strongest light. And what is impossible to say is not only deserves Wittgenstein's silence but the Silence – the secret of the the world to come.
